The old people have a great many proverbs. Some of them are -
1. When the cats are out, the mice can play.
2. Gods help is nearer than the door.
3. There are good goods in small parcels.

5. Never trouble trouble until trouble troubles you.
6. A burned child dreads the fire.
7. The less you say the less flies you'll catch.
8. Ask no questions and you will hear no lies.
9. Wise men are judged by the company they keep.
10 As long as he has a wife no man may be ignorant of his faults.
11. Killing time is always an occasion of sin.
12. The idler never realises that the hardest thing to do well is nothing.
13. When a person does a kind act the other person says "that you may never die until a gooseberry skin makes a coat for you".
