- There is an old ruin in Inishbofinn called Saint Kierans Church. It was built by St. Kieran. There is a bishops head on the gable end, it is said that in olden times there was a man fowling in the island. He fired a shot at the Bishop and cut off his nose while he was taking aim the bishop closed his eye and it never opened again. There is some writing on stones which the people cannot understand.
