- There was a great football match in Tobberclair about forty years ago. They used to go to other counties to play matches. They wore no special clothes or boots and sometimes they played in their bare feet. The ball was made by a local Cobbler, of soft leather.There was a man in Tobberclair football match named "Gallagher" Keegan who was the best man in the match. He was nicknamed Gallagher after a man of that name who was a famous footballer.Bartle Keefe Inchmore was another good footballer.
