  1. We have three cows on our farm. The colours of them are one black one gray and one red. Two of them are giving milk and one is dry. When we call the cows "prig, prig, prig," they will come to us. They are tied in a byre at night. They are tied with a peice of Iron called a bow. It is fastened with a chain to a stall. And we give them hay and mashes in winter. We have seven cattle and three calves. There are three ewes and six lambs also. We have one donkey, and one horse. The horse is very useful for mowing and ploughing, drawing home turf, and putting out manure and drawing in oats and hay. We have one sow, and five pigs.
    When the milk is brought in the strippings are strained with a streiner into a crock. We keep doing that each time until the crock is full. Then we churn in it. In the summer we churn three or four times a week. The churn is a dash-churn. It is wide at top and bottom. There are three pices in it, the dash and the lid and the joggler. The dash is a piece of wood with a long handle. This handle come out through the hole in the lid. The joggler is a round
