- The kind of bread that the people used long ago was very different to the kind that they use now.
The kind of bread that they used long ago was boxty, oaten bread potato-cake and a great many other different kind's.
They had no bakerie's long ago, they baked all the bread at home.
They baked the bread on griddle's and sometimes they baked it on pan's and in oven's.
When they were making the potato-cake they cut it in four quarter's and they were called "farrel's".
They made the oaten-bread from oaten-meal and they baked it on a stool beside the fire.
