  1. A man returning from Ballinamuck took refuge in a farmer's house at the present Currygranny crossroads in Peter McGoldrick's field. When the man was about to sleep he heard the man of the house putting the hasp on the door. He tried to make his escape out on the window but the man killed him with a shovel. The man who killed him was a servant to a man named Percival a farmer in the district.
