The town contained a pound and the field which contains the remaining traces of the old town is still called "Peggy the Pounds meadow". It contained a mill race which worked flax mill in the past. An aged lone white thorn tree is in its centre perhaps as old a Peggy, were she still living. The water rights of this mill are to be had, kept by Mrs O'Reilly, Aughakine, and are of an old date.
