    was erected. The Try family intervened on his behalf but it was of no avail, the Commanding Officer said he had strict orders to hang any Insurgent captured. When they could not influence the Officer to see him free the Try family struck another plan that they would set the sentries drunk, and try and release the prisoner.
    So Mrs Try cut the ropes that bound him and she escorted him up the Toome hills by a house called "Blackgallows" and he dressed in a skirt, and shawl around his head.
