- There was a man who lived in the Co Cavan. He had a son whom he noticed was pining away. He tried several cures, but all failed. Eventually he went to a man called "Andy the Thread" (Andy Brady) to seek a cure for his son. Andy asked him if he had any of his land upon which he had turned in water on. He said he a had a meadow upon which he turned in the water. Andy told him to go home and turn the water off the meadow & that his son would get well. He did as he was told & the boy soon recovered. It was supposed that the ground upon which he had turned in the water was the playground for the "good people.
