    Salt put on a cut kept away blood poison.
    Cold water held in the moth eased a toothache.
    To remove a corn a fresh ivy lead was applied daily.
    Soap was put on a burn to ease the pain, also baking soda.
    Sore eyes were bathed in cold black tea until well.
    To stop a continuous bleeding two fingers of the left hand were tied tightly together.
