    and roaches and pike caught in this river. Some people catch these fish with an ordinary fishing rod and line. Others catch them with artificial bates. Long ago in the local river they had nets on a pole in the river. One person held the net and two or more would plunge the river with poles, which were called plunging poles and they would drive the trout i the direction of the nets by this means.
