- (continued from previous page)and thinner, she was very tired too, for she had not slept. One day she was flying over the meadow, she saw the shepherd boy with his sheep the fairy thought of the bell she had lost. The boy took the bell from his pocket and rang it . Ah, how pleased the bird was to see her lost bell. She flew to a bush and there changed into the shape of an old woman. Then he walked slowly across the meadow to ask the boy the way to the town, "Sit down and take a rest" said the boy. "Have you a bell there"she said to the boy, "is it for sale". Ah no I cannot sell that", replied the boy,"my sheep go anyplace I want them when I ring it". I will give you three silver coins for it said the old woman. The boy said no.
