    succeed in doing but he still worked steadily at his trade as shoe maker, and gave all his attention to his work. By this he means he was able to dress well and live in his lovely home. He felt often that the fairy had not played such a trick on him as he first thought. He taught him a good lesson that carried him through the rest of his life.
