- Long ago in Ireland after the Famine there came a plague called the Cholera. People used to be well in the morning and die before night. There is supposed to be a man who died from the Cholera buried up in Aughamore along the Aughamore Road. His people were not able to bring him to the graveyard to be buried. That time people used to be buried in gardens and near their former homes because their people were not able to bring them to the graveyard to bury them. The survivors were too weak to carry the corpses.
