  1. A white nun is supposed to appear in the Convent of Mercy Longford. A story is told about this nun which is as follows:- The local "Girl Guides" held a meeting in St. Joseph's convent school Longford. The meeting continued until 10 o'clock. The "guides" then left the building. A girl had forgotten her headgear so she asked her friends to wait until she got it. Running into the building she opened the cupboard in which she had left it. As she opened the cupboard she saw the figure of a white nun there. What a surprise! the poor girl must have got. The frightened girl immediately fainted. Her friends anxious about her dashed in and found her in a faint. They were not long in reviving her and when they brought her to her senses she described the incident.
