    The juice of the House Leek, a wild herb, which grows in the thatch is a cure for sore eyes. The scum of bog water mixed with sweet oi is a cure for burns.
    There are many cures for sore throat, the most popular being sliced onion placed in covered vessel overnight with a coating of sugar between the slices. When the onion dissolves the liquid is drunk.
    Another cure for the same ailment is an application of hot salt. Goose grease rubbed to a sprain will cure it.
