    putting lighter pieces in and out through the rafters. They next stretched light branches along it. Then they got bog scraws and lined them along it. It was then ready to thatch.
    The first coat of thatch was sewed to the wood. This was done in this way. There was one man inside and another outside on the roof with a large needle and they sewed it to the wood.
    When that coat was nearly worn another one was put on not in the same way but in another way. It was done in two ways. Sometimes it was stuck in under the old thatch.
