    The Local Forge.
    There are two forges in this parish owned by Tom Power and Alick Power. One of them is in Templetown and the other in Loftus Hall. For many years their people have been smiths. One of the forges is on the road-side and the other is near the cross-roads.
    The blacksmith's implements are the, bellows, tongs, hammer, nails and irons. He shoes horses and donkies and makes and mends farm
