    wealthy man gave him a fire and plenty of food and a paper to read and a big armchair.
    He read away and ate the food and about twelve o'clock he went to bed.
    He was just after getting into the bed when he heard a step outside.
    There seemed to be two men in it and they were carrying a heavy load.
    It was no length anyhow until they appeared in the room.
    There were two men and they were carrying a coffin.
    Up leaps the fellow in the coffin and out leaps the fellow in the bed.
    The two of the began to fight and box.
    The fellow that was in the bed let a blow at the other fellow and asked him what did he mean.
    Says the other fellow, "Good man, you are no coward."
    He brought him downstairs and dug up the flags off the floor and took up a crock of gold and gave it to him.
    In the morning the wealthy man
