- 2nd-11-1938Hallow'een the eve of "All Saints" is usually a night of merry-making in Ireland. Some of the games played on that night are the following.
A large tub of water is placed in the middle of the floor. Some apples are put floating on the top and the competitors kneel around in a circle. They must try to take up the applies in their mouths'. The apples are then eaten by the winners.
Another game is, fill a shallow basin with water and place a six-penny in the bottom. The competitors must try to take it up in their mouth.
