- The people had three meals a day long ago, Breakfast, Dinner and Supper. The people used to work two hours before breakfast. They had cutlings for breakfast. Potatoes and fish for dinner. Potatoes and buttermilk for supper. In some places the table was placed in the centre of the room and in more places near the wall. The meat they used to to eat was a bit of the "lad" which they called American meat. They used to eat eggs on Easter Sunday.
