- Matches were played long ago in Campile. The two great teams were the Campile Free Staters and the Camblin Rovers.
The Camblin Rovers were a team from Camblin. The Campile team was called the Campile Free Staters.
There were seventeen men on each team. A great match was played 30 years ago. It was a draw between the two parties. The Campile team wore a green and white dress. Ash hurleys were the ones mostly in use. The refereeing was done in the same way as nowaday.
When a free kick was to be given he would blow a whistle.- Collector
