The children go bare-footed all the Summer now. A shoe-maker used to come to White-church every-day and he used go home every -night. He used repair the boots around the district. His name was Mr. Dolson. He was from New Ross. The tinkers go bare-footed all the year round. There are no shoemakers in the district. No boots are repaired locally.
Salt is put in the water when washing the feet to prevent them from getting sore. - Children go to school bare-footed in summer. There was a man living in New Ross who used to come out to Whitechurch every day to(continues on next page)
