  1. Many years ago three men dug for gold in the church field in Ambrosetown. They took a bottle of holy water with them and a piece of string which had been steeped in holy water and placed it around the hole.
    One of them kept the bottle and shook it, occasionally, whilst the others dug. Before the digging was commenced one of them placed the string around the hole and recited the following words three times.
    "Stand back Satan, I defy you".
