    The late Mr. Hore was the landlord of Harpurstown estate in years gone by. At that time the rents were very high and it was very hard for people to pay. If they were unable to pay they were evicted.
    There were what was called "Tithe rents" and farmers had to give a part of each crop in payment of these.
