- There is a chest of gold supposed to have been in Scurlogue under a bridge which lets the river run under the road. The treasure was supposed to have been hidden by Thomas Neville A person from Ambrosetown dreamed about the gold under the bridge. One night a number of men from the district went to dig for the gold. They brought holy water and a ball of woollen thread. It was not long till they had gone down a good piece in the earth.
After a while a hen and chickens came and started scratching the clay back again, so they dug away until they came to the chest of gold, there they heard a terrible sound and they thought that all the trees of Woodgraigue were bursting out of the roots and(continues on next page)- Collector
