  1. About 1641 on Xmas eve, Fr. Meyler ws murdered during midnight Mass in a knock of furze known to this day as the Priest's Knock - ( a field on Devereux's farm). Fr. Meyler had given his Chalice to a Mrs Lambert, Lingstown castle, and after some years it was restored to Tomhaggard Church, where it can still be seen. The Church in the cemetery was burned previous to that and the Priest's old Chapel or Mass House in the hay haggard was built after the penal laws were being relaxed.
It is built on the site of an old monastery the remains of which can be seen there.
Opposite St. Ann's Hill there was a castle, the last of the stones were taken away some years ago.
Fr. Meyler is believed to be buried inside the ruins of the old Church.
Tras-scríofa ag duine dár meitheal tras-scríbhneoirí deonacha.
