Mick Mangin of Kilmuckridge threw the four stone weight twenty seven feet, in the same sports. His brother John Mangin won the weight throwing championship of the world in St. Louis, America.James Redmond of Piercestown was the fastest one hundred yards runner in Wexford. George Ross of Killinick was also a hundred yards runner. Both of them won races in adjoining counties, and George Ross on the championship of the world for the hundred yards sprint in St. Louis, America.Pat Stafford of Tannerhill walked to Adamstown in three hours, a distance of about seventeen miles.
