Selskar Abbey had beautiful pealing bells but when Cromwell came over to Wexford he ordered the bells to be removed and to be sent to be broken up because he was a Puritan and Puritans had no desire for bells in their Churches; but the bells were not broken up but sent to River Street in Liverpool.
