They said the black dog was Roger Mc Grath's lost spirit, for it is only a wicked man that would come in the shape of a dog and that he is appearing in the shape of the black dog to find someone that would lift the load of sin from his conscience. When he heard all this, that very instant he went for a priest in a nearby chapel and got him to bless the place and it never appeared again.
