- Tom Mythen Kayle is known locally as a very strong man his height is about six feet eight inches.
He was famous as an axe-wielder and when a tree was wanted to be felled Tom's services were requisitioned. He despised the use of a saw or cross-cut and would never use anything but his axe to fell the largest oak.He spent many months in Horetown wood cutting and clearing the wood during the War years.
