“There was a man in Old Ross and his name was Patrick Carty.”
There was a man in old Ross and his name was Patrick Carty. This man was very good at playing cards. One night when he was going home from playing cards he over-took a man on the road and they travelled together for a mile and they began to talk about cards and Pat asked the man if he liked playing cards and he said he did. They started to play, but Pat was beaten in every game. A card fell on the ground and Pat stooped to pick it up, but he fainted.- Collector
