Ballyvaldon graveyard contains the ruins of a church said to have burned by Cromwell.
The oldest tombstones are those bearing names of
    Mathew Murphy 12th June 1733
    Thomas Cullen 25th May 1798.
On this tombstone is the foll verse :-
Let patriots stop a while rpause.
    In his County's freedom + Erin's Cause
He died a victim to oppressions rage
Freedom his banned, liberty his badge
    Orderly united for fight designed
To conquer or die was well designed
Oulart, Enniscorthy, the fact can tell
Alas, at the Castle wall this hero fell
Now in the mortal arms of his Father's care
His soul immortal, his brother's ardent prayer
No more anon, but this much I'll say
His brother penned it not far away
There are graves inside the ruined Church -
Patrick Royce died March 1st 1793
    Silvester Murphy May 10th 1809
    Luke Murphy Dec 29th 1680.
Murphy is a common name on the tombstone. This graveyard is still in use.
