    from the well is specially useful as a cure for sore eyes - warts, and also for the ailments of cattle.
    Some state that the wart stones referred to above may be the Holy water fonts of the old C. Church which stood in this vicinity.
    The Pattern or Patron day used to be (up to 40 yrs ago) held on 27th Septr. and the day was kept as a holyday in the district. Now, and for several years past, the Patron day is kept on the last Sunday of September when the friends of the dead and local residents still gather to recite prayers.
