    Home - Made Toys.
    Tops
    My father is able to make pegging -tops. He makes them out of a block of wood about three inches by two. He has a lathe which is driven by a wheel. When the top is cut out he makes a spike about two inches long. He sharpens the ends of the spike and he drives one of the ends into the top. He leaves the spike sticking out about one inch.
    Catapult.
    A catapult is made out of a forked stick, two rubber bands and a small piece of leather

    The rubber bands are tied to the forked stick and they are tied to the leather also.
    Put a stone in the leather, pull back the leather towards the end of the forked stick and let go the leather. The stone will fly out. Boys use a catapult to shoot stones at birds.

    A sling
    A sling is made of out two fairly long cords & a piece of leather. There are two
