Kilcoulshea, Boolavogue, Ferns. - There are many weeds on every farm such as the rag-weed, the nettle and docks. They spread quickly & they do no good. People say if you get a sting of a nettle and rub it with a dock-leaf it would be all right.Brigid Lacy,

- Weeds grow when the land is not well tilled. These weeds are the rag-weed, dandelion, docks and chicken-week. The herbs that people use for cures are blood-wort and water-grass. Blood-wort is used for curing cattle that have the murrain. This herb grows in turnip field. You would get this herb and put it in cattles food and give it to the cattle. Water-grass is used for curing a cold. You would get water-grass in a river. You would eat it and it would cure you.James Gahan,
