men left down their tools and ran home. Part of the ditch still remains there. There is another ratheen in Ryan's land in Ballypracus. It is situated in a corner of a big field joining Hanlon's land. It is surrounded by bushes and sgeachs. In olden times Ryan's planted ornamental trees in it but they did not grow. In olden times people said that the dogs used go off howling to the Ratheen.
