    The bricks were used in local Convent and in houses on Church Rd. Stopped in 1914.
    Burning of Lime.
    Several lime-kilns in district. Two where Golf Links are now. There was one at Drumderry, Bunclody, and ten or twelve near Kildavin, Co. Carlow, in Crow's Grove. Lime-stone is not local. Only small round stones in sand-pits. Deposits of ice glacier.

    Fishing.
    A kind of net called cuidéal was used. A three piece net for salmon. Used in the river Slaney. It was called a purse net. It had a wire hoop in mouth to keep it open.
    They were set on a Weir gap. Spears and gaffs were used on small rivers.
    Fowling.
    A trap net was used to catch pluver (pilibín).
