There are many places in this district which fairies are supposed to inhabit and many superstitious people are afraid to pass these places after dark.
The following is an account of one of these places which the fairies are supposed to inhabit :-
About three miles from Enniscorthy on the left hand side of the Oulart road lies the famous "Humpy Field".
It is about an acre in area and, it at once strikes the passer by it's immense humps and hollows.
The highest of these mounds is about four or five feet in height.
The grass grows on the humps and hollows alike.
The field is useless for grazing or tillage.(continues on next page)- Collector
