- Local Roads.
There is a road called the New Road which leads from Bunclody to Carnew. The Hill road leads to Bunclody. The Scallebock[?] is an old road which is still used, and is still used for a short cut to Kilrush on by Green's lane.
The Hill road was made before the Famine, but was improved during the Famine by men working for three-pence and four pence a day. There is an old path which starts in Kiltilly on through Borris and Ballynaberney on to Kilrush. There is a cross erected in Ballynancran in memory of a man who met with an accident and was killed.- Informant
