    Monday for health
    Tuesday for wealth
    Wednesday best day of all
    Thursday for crosses
    Friday for losses
    And Saturday no day at all.
    It is unlucky to bring white thorn into the house.
    It is unlucky to burn an alder stick.
    It is unlucky to let a child look in a mirror before it is a year old
    It is unlucky to take a child's photograph before it is a year old
    If two spoons are in one tea cup it is the sign of a christening
    A fork and knife crossed is a sign of bad luck.
    If you find a hairpin it is a sign of bad luck and a disapointment
    If your glove fall it is a sign of a disapointment.
    It is unlucky to pass anyone on stairs
    If you find a horse shoe spit on it if
