    Candles :-
Long ago candles were made in this town. This industry is not carried on now. The people could be seen bringing any old animals which had been killed, or died during storms to the factory. It is also said that the rich people sold old bones of birds and fish which were left after meals. These were brought to provide fat to make the candles.
BACON was cured in March Lane by a man named Sam Kehoe. Young pigs were exported to London by a man named John Rice.
A drink called SPRICE BEER was made by a few people in New Ross. The making of this drink was a secret.
WOMEN'S HATS and BONNETS were made in Robert Street.
BOATS were made in Cross Lane by a man named Conway.
TOMBSTONES were made in Bridge Street.
