    Attached to the bar was a boring bit which was something like a brace. My father often saw the pump-boring carried on.
    Basket making was also carried on locally long ago.
    An old basket maker named Ned White lived in Poulpeasty. He was a blind man. He made large baskets used for potato picking and also small baskets called kishes into which potatoes were strained.
    He made the baskets from sallows. The industry is not carried on in this district now.
