The following is a story told to me by my father, it relates to a man named Patrick Kearns who left his home to earn his living.
He went to the King of Connaught and asked him for a job the king refused him the job, and Patrick was very angry. A few days after the departure of the king all the wells in Connaught went dry. After that if a well went dry in Connaught the people would say "Kearns has came to it"- Collector
