    of the family called Brigid, after the great St Brigid.
    There is a holy well in the parish called after her, but there are no public visits made to it, except out of private devotion. There is toothache cured at the well.
    The present Church in Clara is called "The Church of St Brigid." There is a street called "St Brigid's Parade" after the great patron.
    There are no processions to Saint Brigid's Abbey except when there is a funeral to it, as the Abbey is surrounded by a graveyard.
