Bare bread was made from starch of potatoes and oaten meal. The bread was wetted with sowens which was got from mill seeds They put a cross on the cake to help it to bake. A pot oven was used for baking the cake in; it has three legs. A grid iron was used for cooking fish in; it
They made bread of oaten meal and put it standing against a brick in front of the fire. They used to get the mill seeds and steal them and mix the bread it. Bread was not baked every day; it was baked twice a week.
