- (continued from previous page)The matches were played parish against parish and sometimes townland against townland. This was called a friendly match.Before they went on the field a band would come out to meet them and they would all march after it and when the match was over they were brought to a big hall and given refreshments and they would have dancing, singing, and music of all kind. The Cloghan team won fame on the field that day. The game was won by seven goals to no goal as there were no things(continues on next page)
