After this we get two long pieces of binder twine and tie an end on each corner.
Then we build up the crib in a slope by putting hazel or sally rods across each other so that one little stick makes a top for it.
When we have it finished we tighten it by twisting the two bits of twine at the top of the crib.
Next (we) get a "pan." that is a briar, and put it in at the two corners at one end of the crib. Then we get a forked stick and a t(h)in piece of sally to set it.
We catch blackbirds, robins, wrens, and many other birds. The forked stick is called a gowel-yoke and the thin stick is called a tricker.
