    pigs when food is scarce.
    Groundsel is a weed which grows about 6 inches or sometimes a foot high. It is generally found in rich land. It is easily pulled but produces seeds plentifully, with a downy carrying attachment. Hence it spreads far and near. The groundsel is given to birds in cages and they eat the seeds.
    The spurge is a weed with a hollow like stem. it is easily pulled. When the stem is broken a kind of white milky juice is to be seen. it is used to cure warts.
    Chicken weed is another local pest. It grows in huge clumps from one single root like robin-run-the hedge. It is easily pulled.
    Scutch grass:
    The very worst weed in this locality is scutch grass. it thrives in poor or rich land. It is the most
