  1. In general the house were all thatched with very small four pane windows. The roofs were covered with scraws first which were cut in the bog. Then it was thatched over them with straw and scollops. The floors were made of lime and sand. There was what they called the mantle tree over the fire there was no turned arches in the houses long ago. There is a kitchen door inside and the trap door outside as most people call
